During our candidate application and recruitment process we collect, process and store personal information about you which you have provided to us or which we have gathered about you we have made about you. The lawful basis upon which we process such information is that it is necessary for the performance of a contract and in order to comply with our legal obligations. We process this information for a variety of purposes relating to the recruitment process and this may include your application, any assessments undertaken by you, pre-employment screening and your right to work within the UK.
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (i.e. anonymous data).

While we may ask for sensitive personal information we do not need your consent to process such information if we use your sensitive personal information in accordance with our written policy and it is necessary for us to process such data to carry out an obligation or exercise rights in the field of employment law.
The security of your personal data is very important to us and we will never sell your data to other companies. We will only share your data where we are legally required to do so (for example to check your right to work) or where it is in our legitimate interests (for example, we centralise our HR resource, we use a third party provider to host and assess applications and we use third party IT providers). All our third-party service providers and other entities in the group are required to take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in line with our policies.

If your application for employment is unsuccessful, we will hold your data on file for 12 months after the end of the relevant recruitment process for consideration for future employment opportunities. At the end of that period or once you withdraw your consent, your data is deleted or destroyed.
If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your employee file and retained during your employment. The periods for which your data will be held will be provided to you in the employee and contractors privacy notice.
You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to us during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide us with the information we require, we may not be able to continue to process your application and consider you for a role with us. If you fail to provide certain information when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have entered into with you, as such, we reserve the right to withdraw any offer of employment which may have been made to you.
