Meet the Management Team
Group Chief Executive
Mario became Wesleyan Group CEO on 1 August 2019, having served as Chief Operating Officer since he joined Wesleyan in December 2018. He moved from Lloyds Banking Group where his most recent role was Chief Operating Officer for their Insurance & Wealth Division. Previous roles in the Group have included Managing Director of the Financial Planning and Retirement business line at Scottish Widows, Chief Operating Officer for the Commercial Banking Division, Operations Director of Asset Finance and Head of Brand for the Group. Before working at Lloyds, Mario gained extensive experience in different industries, markets and sectors including marketing, sales and strategy.
Chief Customer Officer
Ten years as an officer in the British Army was great training for when Vicki moved into the competitive world of financial services with Aviva in 2005. Just over a decade later, she joined Wesleyan to run Strategy, Marketing, Communications, Business Planning, HR and the Company Secretariat. In her role of Chief Customer Officer Vicki now leads the company’s customer facing business units, sales force and marketing expertise.

Chief Risk Officer
Roger is an active supporter of the volunteer sector and believes his activity there has taught him more about people than any management course. These lessons in human behaviour have been useful in his role as Wesleyan’s Chief Risk Officer. Prior to 2013, Roger managed Risk for LV=, Aviva and HBOS, while playing an active role in shaping the sector as it increased in importance for financial services. In total, he has worked in Insurance and Reinsurance for more than 40 years.
My team provides foresight, insight and oversight about risk in an increasingly complex and connected industry.
Chief Financial Officer
When Ahmed was named West Midlands Young Director of the Year in 2017, the Institute of Directors judges praised him as “a great role model for future business leaders”. He was promoted to Wesleyan Chief Financial Officer in 2015 after excelling at leadership roles in Finance and General Insurance and this rise through the ranks at Wesleyan impressed the judges. Ahmed’s previous experience includes senior roles at The Phoenix Group and Celestica. He was also Chairman of Business Professional Services Birmingham.

Chief People & Strategy Officer
Caroline worked her way through a variety of managerial and HR roles before being appointed Head of Customer and Employee Experience at Vodafone. Her path to becoming Wesleyan’s Director of HR and Corporate Services helps her to empathise with employees at every level of the business. Caroline has also led HR operations at Santander and GEOAmey.
I take a positive, pragmatic and partnership-based approach to challenging the status quo.
Chief Investment Officer
Along with managing Wesleyan’s £7 billion investment fund and contributing investment news and analysis to the company’s podcast and YouTube channel, Robert is also District Councillor for Bishopton. He joined Wesleyan in 2017 to oversee the in-house investments team having previously managed two multi-award winning global funds as a partner of Quotidian Investments. Robert has also held global roles at HSBC and Morgan Stanley.
The investments team is one of Wesleyan’s jewels. It’s my job to look after it properly.
James has 20 years actuarial experience; he joined Wesleyan in 2010 and became Chief Actuary in 2018. He is responsible for Wesleyan's actuarial and financial reporting activity and oversees the Society's product development and performance, identifying ways to improve customer outcomes. He is a financial reporting expert and has presented at a number of actuarial conferences.
Chief Operating Officer
David became Wesleyan's Chief Operating Officer on 1 August 2019 having previously served as Technology and Transformation Director since he joined Wesleyan in April 2019. He moved from Lloyds Banking Group where held a range of roles across the group over a 10-year career, rising to Chief Operating Officer for the Group Operations Division. Prior to Lloyds, he worked in a variety of commercial and general management roles. As COO, David has Group-wide responsibility for Change & Transformation, IT, Cyber, Enterprise Planning, Data, Customer Operations, Strategy Execution, and Operational Excellence.
