Meet the Management Team
Group Chief Executive
Mario became Wesleyan Group CEO on 1 August 2019, having served as Chief Operating Officer since he joined Wesleyan in December 2018. He moved from Lloyds Banking Group where his most recent role was COO for their Insurance & Wealth Division. Previous roles in the Group have included Managing Director of the Financial Planning and Retirement business line at Scottish Widows, Chief Operating Officer for the Commercial Banking Division, Operations Director of Asset Finance and Head of Brand for the Group. Before working at Lloyds, Mario gained extensive experience in different industries, markets and sectors including marketing, sales and strategy.

Chief Risk Officer
Jonathan joined Wesleyan in 2015 and held several leadership roles including Head of Actuarial and With Profits Actuary until being appointed as Chief Risk Officer in 2021 and is now responsible for Wesleyan’s risk and regulatory activity. Jonathan is a qualified actuary with a wide breadth of Risk Function and operational experience. Before joining Wesleyan Jonathan previously held senior Actuarial positions with NFU Mutual and KPMG. Jonathan is an active participant in industry bodies and working parties which has influenced regulatory change within the industry.
Chief Financial Officer
Gillian joined Wesleyan as Chief Financial Officer in November 2020 and has over 20 years of financial services experience. Most recently, Gillian was CFO of Customer Savings & Investments and Operations at M&G plc (previously Prudential plc). Prior to this, Gillian held a number of roles at Aviva, including Director of Global Finance Operations, Chief Account Officer of Aviva Investors and Chief Accounting Officer of the UK Life business. Gillian also has accountability for Wesleyan's Company Secretary and strategy teams and is a member of the Society Board.
Chief of Staff
Nathan joined Wesleyan in 2016 as Head of Strategic Communications and has over a decade of corporate communications experience. As Chief of Staff, in addition to managing our communications function, he leads our strategy, culture and engagement and corporate responsibility activity. Prior to joining Wesleyan he has held Internal Communications, Media Relations and Marketing roles across multiple sectors. He joined from public services firm Amey plc, part of the Ferrovial Group where he was Head of Internal Communications and previously worked for Lloyds Banking Group, HBOS and Highways England. Prior to moving into communications, Nathan was a Product Manager with expertise in the specialist mortgage sector.
James has 20 years actuarial experience; he joined Wesleyan in 2010 and became Chief Actuary in 2018. He is responsible for Wesleyan's actuarial and financial reporting activity and oversees the Society's product development and performance, identifying ways to improve customer outcomes. He is a financial reporting expert and has presented at a number of actuarial conferences.

Chief Operating Officer
David became Wesleyan's Chief Operating Officer on 1 August 2019 having previously served as Technology and Transformation Director since he joined Wesleyan in April 2019. He moved from Lloyds Banking Group where he held a range of roles across the group over a 10-year career, rising to Chief Operating Officer for the Group Operations Division. Prior to Lloyds, he worked in a variety of commercial and general management roles. As COO, David has Group-wide responsibility for Change & Transformation, IT, Cyber, Data, Customer Operations, and Supplier Management.

Chief Executive, Wesleyan Bank
Completing Harvard Business School’s Executive Leadership Programme gave Andrew fresh insights into building productive teams and driving sustainable growth. Andrew became CEO of Wesleyan Bank in 2019 having been Managing Director of Practice Plan, the dental membership plan business acquired by the Group in 2013. Andrew initially joined Wesleyan in 2008 as Director of General Insurance following roles at Royal Bank of Scotland, KPMG and Zurich.

Director of HR
Lisa joined Wesleyan in 2017 as a Senior Business Partner, managing the HR Business Partnering team. She then became Head of HR in 2020, and Director of HR in 2021. Lisa is responsible for the People Strategy at Wesleyan and leading a team of circa 40 HR professionals delivering the full suite of HR Services, including Performance Management, Organisational Design and Transformation, Reward and Recognition, Employee Value Proposition, Attraction and Retention, Learning and Development and HR Shared Services. Lisa has worked in HR for the last 25 years within the professional services sector, as an independent consultant and spent most of her formative career at Lloyds TSB Bank in a variety of HR Business Partner and HR Manager positions.
Chief Distribution Officer
Richard joined Wesleyan in 2020 from HSBC UK where he was Head of Network and Premier, responsible for 625 branches and over 7,000 people. He has a wealth of experience in leading an advisory sales force and has an impressive track record of delivering positive outcomes for customers while improving commercial results. Prior to his time at HSBC, Richard spent 12 years at RBS NatWest and has specialist knowledge of customer proposition and distribution strategies, marketing and digital.
